“Open Seasion” is a realistic digital painting well achieved by Heri Irawan, featuring his most known signature by mixing fantasy into reality, be either the characters or scenario or the technique itself.

“Between late autumn and early spring is the most exciting time for this species, because most temperate species of frogs reproduce and grow at this time. At this time they enjoy and take a break from fighting, no sword, no armor, no pain, etc. They have a quite long tongue which they can move quickly, the frogs have no chance to run away, probably just if they´re lucky.

The most appealing feature of this digital painting lies in the illumination handling, done by “The Living Rope” (JS Rossbach) for his collaborative book Merlin.

The passion and love for Japanese pop culture can be seen reflected in the artwork of Colombian artist Carlos Higuera. His characters and the overall drawings style do have a signature that cannot be easily forgotten, maybe because the use of simply effective compositions.

St. Alia Atreides at age 17. I imagine somewhere between Children and Messiah when she is beginning to adopt her role as a religious figure among the Fremen.

I wanted it to be a sort of classic portraiture of her, which I rendered first, and then I later thought it would be cool to frame her with a window shaped like a rising sandworm.

If you’re wondering why she is so colorful, it is because my readings of Herbert’s Dune has always used color very symbolically and very vividly to describe clothes.
