Dune - St Alia of the Knife is a Illustration from Devon Cady-Lee (a.k.a. Gorrem) St. Alia Atreides at age 17. I imagine somewhere between Children and Messiah when she is beginning to adopt her role as a religious figure among the Fremen. I wanted it to be a sort of classic portraiture of her, which I rendered first, and then I later thought it would be cool to frame her with a window shaped like a rising sandworm. If you’re wondering why she is so colorful, it is because my readings of Herbert’s Dune has always used color very symbolically and very vividly to describe clothes.
