Regardless wether or not the movie was a wrong move from Tim Burton, this version of Alice in Wonderland is clearly constituted by a large ammount of great artwork, colorfull and very contrasting of organic / old factory look & feel (as Tim’s own signature indeed). Michael Kutsche presents us several of his concept art developed for this movie, in this case, the Madhatter pictured a bit before Mr. Depp was cast for the role; quite interesting.

Again, I don’t take Fanart very friendly as a publishing material, specially because there is something already created behind it, but in cases like this manga digital painting “Lambdadelta vs Ange”, created from the mind of Arsenixc, one can make an excepcion; due to it’s extraordinary composition achievement and detail handling. There is no much arguing left for this piece. Full-res version is a must.

“Open Seasion” is a realistic digital painting well achieved by Heri Irawan, featuring his most known signature by mixing fantasy into reality, be either the characters or scenario or the technique itself. “Between late autumn and early spring is the most exciting time for this species, because most temperate species of frogs reproduce and grow at this time. At this time they enjoy and take a break from fighting, no sword, no armor, no pain, etc. They have a quite long tongue which they can move quickly, the frogs have no chance to run away, probably just if they´re lucky.

The most appealing feature of this digital painting lies in the illumination handling, done by “The Living Rope” (JS Rossbach) for his collaborative book Merlin. This is our first publication for 2010!. Our plans for this year coming soon.

This is one huge piece, cleverly composed it takes you down (literally) step by step to a complete landscape of dreams and feelings. I Dream… from the hand of Laitma, makes part of the Wacom Dreams’ contest.

The Gift is an elegant digital painting from Fabio Barboni (a.k.a. 0effe0) for the Advent Calendar Project 2009. This is actually one of Barboni’s signature about making pieces of Manga and Anime art truly classic, exquisit, magical and overall: inspiring.
